Whether you are keen to get things sorted or just want to discuss your options in a non-judgmental, confidential setting, our doctors are qualified to help. Have your concerns addressed in a relaxed and comfortable setting.
A few examples of matters we can help with include:
From social anxiety to post-natal and high-functioning depression; our caring staff appreciates the sensitivity around seeking help and Baylife Medical has set up a system to give you minimum social interaction. Book your appointment online and get started on the paperwork even before you arrive. Once at the clinic you can bypass reception and find a comfy seat in the waiting room and let us know you are here, by “checking in” on your phone. Then all you need to do is wait for one of our experienced doctors to come and find you. Once in one of our calm and serene consult rooms; your concerns will be gently discussed and a plan formulated. To help ease the process we can even arrange for certain medication to be picked up on-site.
Preventative Medicine is often a field that is overlooked. We somehow seem inclined to believe everything is ok until it is not. We are all at-risk for different medical conditions depending on what stages of our lives we are currently at, our occupation, our hobbies, even our genetic history. Why not come in for a general check-up where we can also explore this a little further and take the steps required to create a better health outcome.
Please note: if you are facing a health emergency, please call 000.
A welcoming and warm environment to offload your daily stressors while also having your basic healthcare needs met. Come in for a supportive conversation with our experienced staff and tell us what’s been on your mind and clear up some of those doubts in a calm and caring, non-rushed consultation. Let us check your blood pressure and assess your health risks while also discussing safety and preventative measures. Put your mind at ease and allow us to do the worrying on your behalf.
Concerns addressed may include:
Memory Loss, Empty Nest Syndrome, Insomnia, Feeling blue, lonely or overwhelmed, Polypharmacy (Taking lots of different tablets), Falls Risks, Accessing home services, Generalised aches and pains, Cancer screening.
Did you know that two in three Australians will be diagnosed with some form of skin cancer before the age of 70 (as per the cancer council NSW). Why wait until it’s too late? Whether it’s just one or two suspicious lesions or a full skin check-up, book in for a skin check with one of our experienced Doctors to catch any potentially suspicious lesions early.
Life can get in the way and quite frequently we need to be reminded to slow down and appreciate the view. Going back to basics; we discuss things like dietary habits; our relationship with food and general attitudes towards diet culture. Delving into the different avenues of dealing with stress. Breaking down the concept of me-time. Addressing habits that are potentially damaging to your health from caffeine and alcohol intake to smoking and vaping. We can also look at sleeping habits and help figure out why you aren’t waking up feeling refreshed each day.
The mental load can at times be daunting when we continue to procrastinate and avoid looking after our own bodies and mental wellbeing. Come in for a chat on how we can help keep you accountable and informed.
It’s difficult enough dealing with the repercussions of a chronic illness let alone monitoring and managing it. We can help you understand what is going on, from explaining the disease process to supporting you with managing your own treatment plan.
Here at Baylife, we believe it takes an all-inclusive approach to managing a person’s illness and while medication does have its role, so do the day-to-day decisions we make. Whether it’s a new diagnosis or a condition you’ve been trying to get a handle on for years, why not consider a new perspective where you can influence your own health outcomes. Come in for a chat on how we can equip you with the tools and motivation to create a realistic and achievable plan together.
Examples of disease processes that we can assist you with include:
It is our practice policy that a GP management plan and associated referrals will not be performed for patients on their first visit. These need to be done by your regular GP so a prerequisite of two prior attended appointments need to have occurred for us to organise this for you. The exception being for a mental health care plan.
Going through the pre-teen and early teen years is always a turbulent stage. Our approach to educating young people is to have open dialogue and establishing a relationship with a health professional early in their lives. This provides young adults with a safe space for them to come back and ask questions and share their worries in a confidential and supportive environment. Topics that may be addressed are listed below, but we also encourage the individuals to take the lead and steer the conversation.
Lifestyle Habits. Physical Health. Body positivity. Vaping and Substance use. Cyber Bullying. Peer Pressure. Sex and Reproduction. Relationships and Consent. Contraception and Safe Sex. Mental Health (Mindfulness and Resilience)
Resources provided. Follow-up emails or phone calls (via telehealth) as an option. Consent from the guardian may be required. Give us a call to check how we can customise the session.
Set aside some time to come in and just offload your concerns. Have an informed conversation with a health professional without judgement or prejudice. Sometimes we all just need a safe space to share our concerns, and here at Baylife Medical, our doctors welcome you to this confidential and relaxed session where you can have a casual chat while being assured that genuine and reliable information is being shared.
This session is specific for new carers. Whether you are a mother, father, foster parent, or any other primary carer; being responsible for a new family member can be a tumultuous time in your life. We understand that it is not easy adjusting to change while juggling baby wellbeing, feeding, immunisation appointments, unsolicited advice from strangers, the list goes on. We understand that adjusting to change is never easy. Let us help you adjust priorities and help reassure you while addressing your own personal concerns. We can help you navigate through this period while also linking you to the existing support network that exists locally.
Address your concerns and discuss the difficult questions early.
Our experienced health professionals can aid in understanding the implications of your decisions and assist you in filling out the forms. Save your loved ones from having to make the difficult decisions on your behalf later on.
We will provide you with an Advanced Care Directive which you will keep the original of and we will upload a copy to your health care record as an official document.
Whether you’ve forgotten to chase up those old blood tests that you’ve had done a few months ago or you have a few scattered reports at different centers and departments; our team would be happy to chase them up for you. We can review and decipher them then arrange a session directly with you to explain and discuss further options if needed.
